Critique

Now I know you might think I'm hating on your track, but I'm just trying to help/critique. Sounded way to simple in my mind. There was nothing unique about it. There was usually only 1 or two instruments playing one note at a time, which made it sound really flat. Try adding chords or more percussion to it and make it more interesting. Simple can be good, but you need to make it interesting. My suggestion would be to study some of your favorite trance songs and attempt to recreate them. Try youtubing some tutorials as well for the program you're using. The song seemed to be lacking in bass too, so maybe add a louder synth bass or something. Now I'm assuming you're just starting or have started not too long ago, so I salute you in your efforts. It's really not that bad for not being extremely experienced as others. Keep up the efforts man, if you have any questions feel free to PM me.

I fail to see how this fits under dance. The piano is nice though. Pretty atmospheric.

Well if there was an electronica genre, I'd've put it there. It fits here better than pretty much anywhere else as I believe misc. is for stuff like ringtones and sound effects. I'm glad that you like the piano, I was going for an atmospheric effect with it.

Damn man, this is really good! Best I've heard from you yet. Again, like the others said it's very well mastered. Do you use an eq and maximus on every separate channel? I usually just eq each channel and also include reverbs, delays, soundgoodizers (as needed) and maximus on the master. But this is definitely better than my mastering xD .

haha, Thanks! On this one I used a parametric EQ on every channel and then maximus on the master. I got lazy :P. I do think I used ANOTHER maximus on some of the leads though. Other than that just effects here and there. Even used 3xOsc for the intro pad lol! That little guy can sound good if you work it right.

Agree about the 0 bombers :/

It's so heartbreaking to see tracks that deserve well over 4's but get 0 votes constantly. WHY DO PEOPLE RESORT TO THIS IT DOESN'T MAKE YOU COOL! I upload a song and it gets a 2.32 instantly within 5 votes v.v . Anyway, really calming track, wouldn't call it "trance" necessarily, but I've made pieces similar to this so I can greatly appreciate it. I absolutely loved it. To be honest though, the grasp of winter wasn't as strong as I thought it could be.

I have another Winter-inspired piece that I'm considering uploading on here, but I guess that the "Winterness" would be fairly subjective to each person. I personally think it would make an awesome background track for a snow and ice level of a game.

Anyway, I'm glad that you liked it and exist as a kindred spirit on this side of the Zero Bomber fence. It's a shame that they exist to slam good submissions for kicks or to feel better about their miserable little lives. Sucks to be them, I guess.

Cool

Not really into DnB but I thoroughly enjoyed this piece. The melody was really cool and the song overall was energetic. I felt like it was all based on high frequencies though, I didn't hear much bass to it. I was kind of expecting more drums to be honest. But it is still a wip, can't wait to hear the rest it sounds really cool :) .

Im still learning to make DnB as I want to expand my genre. It kinda is based on high frequencies, but I didnt have any bass because My computer couldn't handl it for some reason. So this will probably be done around christmas time(When I can get some new parts). Or less if I somehow fix things. Im working on something and I need some help with the melodies.
